DGS is currently accepting applications for core classroom teachers for the 2012-2013 school year. DGS's team culture is built around hard work and having fun. Constant ImprovementDGS teachers will have the opportunity to develop their skills through our Summer Institute and weekly professional development sessions on Friday afternoons (early-release days).  Additionally, each teacher will work with a mentor and a partner who can provide individualized support.  Our collaborative environment will be rooted in student achievement data and focus on improving instructional practice and student learning. These opportunities will alllow teachers to build a vibrant professional learning community, improve their practice and have fun.

Education for Sustainability - This is what makes DGS different. Along with meeting and exceeding the CO Core Common standards, DGS seeks to meet and exceed the Education for Sustainability (EfS) standards.  It's what our hands-on, brains-on approach is all about. We want to prepare students to be problem-solvers and leaders for the 21st Century and lead the way toward a bright green future.  Read more about our EfS standards here.

21st Century Classrooms– Each classroom will be equipped with student computers and a document camera and teachers will have access to mimeo machines.  Each staff member will have a Macbook to monitor student achievement data and communicate with peers, families and administrators.

Collaboration– All teachers will have daily prep time and weekly opportunities to collaborate with their content-area and grade-level teams.  We have built a professional learning community where teachers and partners are constantly having the hard conversations and pushing each other to get better at our craft.

If you are interested in applying for a teaching position, please complete the following steps:

1.) Send a resume, cover letter, and educational philosphy statement addressed to Lead Partner: Mimi Diaz. Please send all of these materials directly to Charmaine Gallegos at charmaine_gallegos@dpsk12.org.

2.) Once you have submitted these materials and received correspondence back from us at DGS, you will need to also fill out an application with Denver Public Schools and take the Gallop Poll survey (part of the DPS application process).
